Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company, the Vietnamese low-cost airline, has set ambitious targets for 2023, aiming to earn a consolidated revenue of over $2.14bn and an after-tax profit of $42.8m. The targets were announced at the company’s General Meeting of Shareholders, where it was also revealed that Vietjet plans to expand its fleet of 87 aircraft, including nine Airbus A330 wide-body planes, with the expectation of operating 139,513 flights carrying 25.7 million passengers. Vietjet is hoping to maintain its position in passenger volume and efficiency in Vietnam, as well as to expand its business activities in ground services, training services and digital operations. In 2022, the airline transported 20.5 million passengers on more than 116,261 flights.
