Vietjet plans to remain the leading airline in terms of passenger volume and efficiency in Vietnam by 2023. The airline intends to reach agreements with aircraft manufacturers Airbus and Boeing for on-time delivery, expand its business activities in ground services, training services and digital business, while optimizing operations and financial solutions to cut costs and improve efficiency. It aims to expand its fleet to 87 aircraft, including nine A330 wide-body aircraft. Vietjet posted revenue of $1.71bn in 2022, a YoY increase of 212%. It carried 20.5 million passengers last year on 116,261 flights, a YoY increase of 283%. The airline was also named one of the world’s 50 best airlines for healthy financing and operations by Airfinance Journal, and Best Low-Cost Carrier by CAPA, Skytrax, and other organizations.
