Vietjet Aviation Joint Stock Company has announced its growth plan for this year, following a successful General Meeting of Shareholders (GMS). Targets have been set for the airline to maintain its market leader position in Vietnam, reach agreements with aircraft manufacturers to ensure timely delivery, expand business activities, and optimize operations and financial solutions. The airline plans to expand its fleet to 87 aircraft, including nine Airbus A330 wide-body planes, and operate 139,513 flights with 25.7 million passengers onboard. Its targeted consolidated revenue for 2023 is over VND50,178 billion (approx. USD2.14 billion) while after-tax profit is set at VND1,000 billion (USD42.8 million). In 2022, Vietjet operated more than 116,261 flights and transported 20.5 million passengers. Its 2022 audited financial statements reported consolidated revenue of over VND40,142 billion (approx. USD1.71 billion), up by 212% YoY.
