Hyderabad: A Hyderabad bound Vistara flight was compelled to return to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai shortly after departing due to a technical problem, ensuring the safe landing of all passengers, the airline confirmed on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday, prompting the airline to arrange an alternative aircraft to transport the passengers to their intended destination, according to an official statement released by the carrier. Shortly after takeoff on 17 February 2024, Vistara flight UK531, operating from Mumbai to Hyderabad, encountered a technical snag. Following established protocols, the flight crew opted to turn back and successfully landed the plane at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai. The airline has refrained from disclosing the exact number of individuals onboard.
The aircraft is presently undergoing thorough inspections to rectify the issue before resuming operations, Vistara stated. Meanwhile, another aircraft was promptly arranged and departed shortly thereafter to complete the interrupted journey.
