India based Vistara has made a public apology for days of disruption over a current pilot shortage.
The airline is scaling back its schedules and deploying larger aircraft on some routes.
It is also offering refunds. Around 100 flights have been cancelled or delayed in recent days.
“We’ve had a significant number of flight cancellations and delays for various reasons, including crew unavailability. We are deeply concerned about the inconvenience this has caused to our customers,” the airline said.
It is ‘working towards stabilising the situation and operating at regular capacity very soon.”
The issue is reportedly over pilots calling in sick en masse.
This is apparently in protest over the airline’s plans to revise the pilot salary system ahead of its integration with Air India.
