Travel routes from Doncaster Sheffield Airport will be impacted from today after Wizz Air cancelled dozens of flights.
Last week the Hungarian airline announced it would be cancelling a “large number” of flights to and from the South Yorkshire airport due to staff shortages in the industry. Wizz Air flights to and from Doncaster Sheffield will be affected from Friday, June 10.
The airline apologised to the passengers that would be affected, and said it would be contacting them immediately to help them understand their options. Passengers who booked holidays to popular destinations were left in a “nightmare” after paying hundreds of pound, and being stuck for how they can find a new flight.

One individual told Yorkshire Live that he wouldn’t be able to visit his family in his second home in Larnaca, and is now left with £400 of “useless” plane credits. And, a Yorkshire couple holidaying in Malaga, Spain, shared their anger when Wizz Air told them to book to other airports 100 miles away, they claim.
Stephen, chairman of the Doncaster Racecourse Annual Members Committee, said: “We flew out on time on Sunday, May 15, and could not fault the outward journey. We were due to return next Sunday, June 12, only to find out yesterday that our flight is cancelled. We are now left to try to find our own way home”
From today 13 routes will be impacted. Those who have booked with the airline should have received an email if their flight is cancelled.
