Multiple U.S. and European airlines again temporarily have
canceled flights to and from Israel after a missile fired May 4 by Yemen’s
Houthi rebels landed near Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv.
Many carriers had suspended Tel Aviv flights after the Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas, but had resumed service in recent months, including United on March 15 and Delta on April 1.
Delta Air Lines and United Airlines each issued travel
exceptions for May 4 through 11 for Tel Aviv flights for tickets issues on or
before May 4 for Delta and on or before May 3 for United. American Airlines had
not yet resumed service.
