TAP Air Portugal is to introduce its 12th route to Brazil with the start of services to Florianópolis in the southern part of the South American destination.
The Portuguese carrier will launch the route from Lisbon to Florianópolis on 3 September when it will offer three weekly flights on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
TAP plans to use Airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route featuring 244 seats in economy and 25 seats in business class.
Luís Rodrigues, TAP’s CEO, said the route to Florianópolis was “under consideration for some time” and it was particularly needed now due to the closure of Porto Alegre airport where operations have been suspended after suffering severe storm damage in May.
