Sabre Corporation has announced that its current CEO and chair, Sean Menke, will move to become solely executive chair of the board from 27 April, 2023. At the same time, Kurt Ekert, currently the company’s president, will take over as CEO. These changes are part of Sabre’s ongoing succession planning. Under Menke’s leadership, the company set out to reimagine the future of travel enabled by its technology transformation, strategic partnerships, and leadership team-building. Menke stated that he was “confident” Ekert would continue to successfully lead the organisation into the future. Ekert joined Sabre in January 2022 as part of its long-term succession plans. He will focus on all aspects of the company’s business and technology operations. Sabre’s independent lead director, Gregg Saretsky, thanked Menke for his leadership and stated that the company’s leadership team would continue to move forward with his ambitious multi-year strategy.
