The town’s historical hotels were captured by local photographers the Sankeys who photographed life in and around Barrow in the early 20th century.
Many of their images show the hotels as far back as 100 years ago.

This includes the region’s most prestigious hotels such as The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel on Abbey Road, The Clarkes Hotel at Rampside and the Furness Abbey Hotel.
