Omri Morgenshtern, Agoda CEO, at the ET Now Global Business Summit 2025
India is a tech powerhouse, making the country very hard to ignore, Omri Morgenshtern, CEO of digital travel agency Agoda, said at the ET Now Global Business Summit.
Speaking at the event in Delhi, Morgenshtern noted that the country is in a hyper-growth mode.
“India is in a hyper-growth mode, and it is very hard to ignore. First, the GDP growth and the travel industry growth. Secondly, the amazing investment by the government, specifically in the travel sector. In addition, it is very hard to ignore India as a tech powerhouse. All of these make India a superpower,” he said.
Morgenshtern also discussed the economic impact of the Maha Kumbh, saying the event’s contribution to the Indian economy is around $35 billion, highlighting the strength of the travel industry.
Regarding investments, Morgenshtern said Agoda’s plan is to bring more tourists to India. “We can localise and personalise our services,” he said.
