New Delhi, 4 March 2025 – Digital travel platform Agoda’s 2025 Sustainable Travel Survey reveals India as the second most sustainability-conscious travel market in Asia, with over four in five Indian travelers (82%) factoring sustainability into their 2025 travel plans, higher than the average for all Asian travelers combined (68%).
This survey, which engaged over 6,000 respondents across 11 Asian markets, spotlights the evolving landscape of sustainable travel in Asia, where authentic and purposeful tourism, and off-peak travel are becoming more prominent.
Personal Values Drive More Sustainable Choices
Indian travelers are embracing sustainability with a strong emphasis on community impact and meaningful experiences. Close to a quarter of respondents (24%) chose personal values and beliefs as their top motivation for sustainable travel.
