A recent market research study by eDreams ODIGEO, celebrating its 25th anniversary, has shed light on the evolving travel priorities and values as we step into 2024. The study, conducted via OnePoll, surveyed 10,000 global consumers, with a significant 2,000 participants hailing from the United States. The findings underscore that travel remains a top budget priority for consumers, with a global score of 84% and a US score of nearly 80%.
Generational Shift in Travel Preferences
The results of the study reveal a distinct generational shift in travel preferences. Young Americans under 24 years old have demonstrated a strong emphasis on social inclusivity and digital connectivity in their travel decisions, with 44% and 35% respectively. This contrasts markedly with the older generation – only 27% of those over 65 value social inclusivity, and a mere 7% consider digital connectivity as important.
