This Sunday, 16 February 2025, the city of Barcelona will be hosting the 35th edition of the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks 2025, an event that is once again breaking records with 30,000 participants, establishing itself as the largest half marathon in Spain and the second most popular in Europe.
An inclusive, international race
This year, female participation has reached an all-time high, with 12,000 women registered to take part, accounting for 40% of the total. What’s more, 40% of runners are international participants, hailing from 95 different countries, while 45% of participants are from the province of Barcelona. These figures reflect the inclusive and international character of the race.
An elite line-up and record-breaking aspirations
Some 49 elite athletes will be taking part in the race (28 men and 21 women), seeking to set new records for this event, which currently stand at: 58:53 for the men’s race and 01:04:29 for the women’s race. Participants…
