US: Expedia Group has undergone more restructuring by laying off an undisclosed number of staff in its marketing and creative teams, as per posts appearing on LinkedIn.
In a statement provided earlier to GeekWire, the company said: “To ensure the best traveller experience, we must continually adapt to the evolving needs of our industry and travellers. This requires difficult but necessary decisions such as refining our marketing strategies, improving efficiencies, and reallocating resources to areas with the greatest business impact to drive customer engagement.”
According to its annual 10-K filing, Expedia Group had 16,500 employees in almost 50 countries as of 31 December 2024, compared to around 17,000 a year earlier.
In its recent Q4 earnings report, the group reported a ten per cent YoY [year-on-year] increase in revenue to $3.1 billion.
