What’s going on at Expedia Group?
Expedia Group is reportedly planning to eliminate approximately three per cent of its workforce as part of an ongoing restructuring.
A source told Yahoo! Finance that the reduction will mostly affect the company’s product and technology teams. However, Expedia’s finance department will also be trimmed.
“As part of a broader effort to strengthen our business and position the company for long-term growth, we are restructuring parts of our organization,” the company said in a statement.
“These are difficult, but necessary, decisions to ensure we sharpen our focus on strategic priorities and remain well-positioned to deliver for customers and partners.”
The latest round of job cuts comes after the company scaled back its marketing team in March.
