Expedia’s Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) will offer a revamped booking experience, boasting artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technology. Over 35,000 travel agencies across more than 30 countries currently use TAAP, with the service experiencing increased usage this year. TAAP already offers flexibility on payments and Live Agent chat, with 32% of all US agent interactions in Q1 2019 serviced via Live Agent chat, making the chat feature popular amongst users. Expedia is exploring ChatGPT integration into TAAP and looking for ways to use generative AI for partner-facing services. Recent partnerships with Mastercard and SoFi will provide users with further capability and offerings. Expedia’s B2B segment revenue rose 55% YoY in Q1 of 2019.
