Nearly one-third of girls who play football quit in their early teens, with access to travel and facilities often a major factor.
No professional player makes it on their own and as part of Expedia’s ‘Nothing beats being there’ campaign, the film celebrates and thanks people who have provided girls with access to football.
Featuring captain Niamh Fahey, Gemma Bonner and Mia Enderby, the trio thank their biggest supporters and detail why that support mattered for their own personal journeys to reach professional football. Manager Matt Beard also explains how football has changed during the last decade for young girls starting out.
Fans can hear through the players’ own stories the barriers they have faced along the way. Through their own experiences, it raises awareness for the issues girls can face accessing football.
