In a recent ruling by the IV Addl District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in Bangalore, Ms. Anita Kachroo emerged victorious in her legal battle against MakeMyTrip (India) Pvt. Ltd. The consumer lodged a complaint under Section 35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, alleging a deficiency of service by the popular travel agency.
Ms. Kachroo, represented by Sri M.R. Manoj Kumar, accused MakeMyTrip of failing to provide the necessary documentation for a booked air travel journey for her parents. Despite paying Rs.44,086 through an ICICI Bank credit card, the complainant claimed to have received neither ID for booking nor an electronic ticket nor any SMS confirmation. Customer service informed her of a failed transaction and assured a refund within 15 days. Following this, Ms. Kachroo made a second booking, which was processed successfully, receiving proper documentation.
