Japanese Travel Preferences Shift towards Domestic Tourism, Traveloka APAC Travel Study Reveals

• A new Traveloka study reveals that 70% of Japanese travellers prefer domestic trips, driven by perceived safety, affordability, and transportation options.
• The study also shows that Japanese travelers are price-sensitive and increasingly consider sustainability when making travel decisions.

Traveloka, in partnership with YouGov, has released a report titled “Travel Redefined: Understanding and Catering to the Diverse Needs of APAC Travellers.” This study, conducted with nearly 12,000 respondents across nine countries, including more than 1,000 respondents from Japan, aims to understand evolving travel habits and preferences in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
