Popular travel website, TripAdvisor, has ranked England’s top beaches based on their reviews. At the top of the list is Bournemouth Beach, with nearly 9,000 reviews highlighting its 9.5 miles of golden sands, seafront restaurants, cafes, amusement arcades and easy access for disabled visitors. It’s followed by Weymouth Beach, popular with bathers and water sports enthusiasts, Fistral Beach, which hosts major surfing championships, and Woolacombe Beach, which offers daily cleaning and beach hut rentals along its three-mile stretch. In fifth place, Gorleston-on-Sea Beach near Great Yarmouth is “like the Mediterranean”, while Yorkshire’s Filey Beach, complete with good stretches of sand for kite-flying and horse riding, is sixth. Brighton Beach, made of pebbles, is at number seven followed by Scarborough Beach, split into two sandy bays, Hengistbury Head Beach and the unspoilt Sandbanks Beach in Poole at number 10.
