World’s best beaches according to Tripadvisor are less than 4 hours from the UK

If the dreary winter weather has you dreaming of hot and sunnier days, get ready for even more wanderlust courtesy of Tripadvisor.

The travel site has unveiled the world’s best beaches for 2024 with pristine sands, swim-friendly waters and heaps of facilities, in its annual Travellers’ Choice Awards.

The best part is that you won’t need to venture to far-flung locations (although there’s plenty of that too) as the top three spots are all in Europe, and all less than a four-hour flight away from the UK.

(Sadly for those eyeing up a staycation, no UK beaches made the top 10, however Sandbanks Beach in Dorset was named the world’s most sustainable beach when ranked on factors such as sustainable transport options, waste disposal and water quality.)
