Korean online accommodation provider Yanolja has been given approval to acquire the travel unit of e-commerce firm Interpark for a $231.8m sum. The deal will give Yanolja a 70% stake in the company. The acquisition will provide a way for Yanolja, which is attempting to enter the global travel market, to diversify its services. Approval of the deal came from the Korea Fair Trade Commission, which ruled that the acquisition would not harm market competitiveness in related trade divisions such as online bookings or airline ticketing.
