Cambodia’s Angkor Archaeological Park generated over US$36.8 million in revenue from ticket sales during the first 10 months of 2023. The figures were released by the state-owned Angkor Enterprise, the entity responsible for managing ticket sales at the world-famous heritage site.
The revenue was collected from 602,570 international tourists who visited the park, located in the northwestern Siem Reap province, between January and October 2023. This marks a significant increase in tourism for the region.
Tourism Revenue and Visitor Growth
The earnings represent a substantial increase of 257.6 percent compared to the same 10-month period in 2022. This sharp rise indicates a strong recovery in Cambodia’s tourism sector following the global pandemic.
A portion of the income from ticket sales contributes to charitable causes. From the total revenue, US$1.2 million was donated to the Kantha Bopha Children’s Hospitals in Cambodia.
Current ticket prices for international visitors are set at US$37 for a one-day pass, US$62 for a three-day pass, and US$72 for a seven-day pass.
