Cambodia’s tourism sector experienced a 669% increase in gross revenue in 2022, reaching $1.41bn, according to a report by the Ministry of Tourism. The country also received 2.28 million international tourists in that year, an increase of 1,058% from the previous. Tourism, which made up 3.6% of Cambodia’s GDP last year, is one of the country’s four key economic pillars. Cambodia is expecting to attract four million international visitors in 2023, according to Tourism Minister Thong Khon. Cambodia is home to three UNESCO World Heritage sites and a 450km coastline stretching across four southwest provinces.
