Indonesia’s AirAsia has signed a memorandum of understanding with Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, paving the way for direct flights between Jakarta and Phnom Penh. The deal will see AirAsia operate four flights a week between the two city centres. Plans for the new route come as part of Indonesia’s bid to expand its tourism industry, following a number of initiatives by the country’s government and the recent announcement of a new airport to be built on Bali. AirAsia flies to 120 destinations in Asia and Australia.
