Cambodia’s Angkor Archeological Park has seen a significant increase in tourism, with 236,341 foreign tourists visiting the park during the first quarter of 2021, an 11-fold increase from the same period last year. The park earned $11.1m in ticket sales revenue during this period, over 12 times more than last year. The increase in tourism has been attributed to China’s resumption of outbound group tours and the optimization of its anti-Covid-19 strategy. The Angkor Archeological Park, located in northwest Siem Reap province, is the most popular tourist destination in Cambodia and is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.
