The Southeast Asian Games torch relay was held in Tagaytay City, Philippines, to celebrate Cambodia’s first-time hosting of the games, which will take place on May 5-17. Athletes from various sports, as well as foreign dignitaries, carried the torch through the city in a festive atmosphere. Philippine Olympic Committee President Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino highlighted the importance of the Games for building friendship among Southeast Asian nations, rather than just competing for medals. The Cambodia SEAG delegation will consist of 840 athletes competing in 608 events across 38 sports.
