The Tourism Board is recruiting more people with a passion for tourism to become hosts for visitors and share a local perspective as well as knowledge on traveling in Hong Kong.
The “Hong Kong Pals” Volunteer Program, launched in 2009, has recruited more than 100 volunteers who have contributed 70,000 hours of volunteer service and assisted hundreds of thousands of visitors.
A new round of programs accepts registration from Wednesday (Apr 24) to May 31.
The volunteers shall be friendly and hospitable, and well-versed in any tourism-related aspects, such as traditional local culture, shopping, food and drinks, green tourism, arts, cultural and entertainment.
They shall speak fluent Cantonese, English and Mandarin, and ability in any other languages would be an advantage.
