The Chinese-American, born in Guangzhou in 1917, had an illustrious career that spanned more than seven decades and included the Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, the landmark Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the National Gallery of Art’s East Building in Washington and the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha.
July – Chinese Kungfu x Dance Carnival
Choreographed to blend Chinese martial arts and dance, the “Chinese Kungfu x Dance Carnival” will run from July 12 to 14.
Highlights will include a “Thousand-Person Martial Arts Performance”, to be staged three times, one for each day of the carnival. The public can watch free of charge at Piazza A-C of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
Gala dance performances will also be held every night from 7.45pm to 9.45pm at the centre’s Grand Theatre, with tickets priced from HK$220 (US$28) to HK$880.
