Wendy Wu Tours has announced a new partnership with the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) to champion the Greater Bay Area (GBA) as a multi-destination holiday experience. This collaboration aims to promote the GBA’s diverse attractions and improved accessibility to the travel market in the UK and Ireland.
The Greater Bay Area is comprised of Hong Kong, Macau, and nine cities located in China’s Guangdong province. The partnership will focus on highlighting these destinations, encouraging travellers to explore the region’s varied offerings, from Hong Kong’s urban landscape to Macau’s rich heritage and the historical and modern cities within Guangdong.
As part of this initiative, joint activities, including a forthcoming trade webinar, are planned to inform and engage travel agents. The partnership leverages recent infrastructure developments, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, which has significantly enhanced connectivity throughout the GBA, facilitating smoother multi-destination tours.
Wendy Wu Tours is offering two dedicated GBA tours designed to showcase the region. The “A Taste of the Greater Bay” tour provides an eight-day itinerary, while the “Wonders of the Greater Bay” tour offers a more extensive 16-day option. These tours combine Hong Kong with other significant GBA locations, including Macau, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai, offering travellers a comprehensive regional exploration.
Rob Fleming, Regional Director for Wendy Wu Tours (UK & Ireland), expressed enthusiasm for the partnership’s potential to showcase the GBA and equip travel agents with the resources to sell these diverse itineraries. Dawn Page, Trade Marketing Manager for HKTB (UK & Northern Europe), underscored the board’s objective to reconnect with the travel trade and highlight Hong Kong’s appeal as both a gateway and a key destination within the Greater Bay Area.
