Ranked: 10 countries with worst air quality in 2024; India ranks 3rd
This report, published by IQAir, which tracks air quality worldwide, reveals that a staggering 83 of these cities were situated in India, surpassing the World Health Organization’s air quality guidelines by over tenfold. With a specific focus on fine particulate matter, or PM2.5, the study highlights its alarming prevalence as the most hazardous pollutant. Shockingly, only 9% of the over 7,800 cities assessed worldwide met the WHO’s standard, which mandates that average annual PM2.5 levels should not exceed 5 micrograms per cubic meter.Here are 10 countries that have been ranked as world’s most polluted countries.
