NEW DELHI: ATR regional aircraft are playing a key role in connecting the remote regions in the country under the viability gap funding-enabled UDAN scheme and its manufacturer believes that the regional connectivity scheme put in place by the Ministry of Civil Aviation is amongst the best in the world for stimulating air travel.In an interview to ET Infra, Jean-Pierre Clercin, Head of Commercial for Asia Pacific, ATR, outlined that the UDAN scheme has been a big enabler for the Franco-Italian aircraft manufacturer.
“The potential of the market is much bigger. The government has been extremely proactive in trying to promote new connectivity in the country. The UDAN scheme has been, I think, one of the world class solutions proposed by the government and we see a lot of adoption in the country for this thing,” said Jean-Pierre Clercin.
