Goa chief minister Pramod Sawant said there was a need for sustainable tourism in the state. “We have launched GoaMiles and other apps. We have to educate the taxi owners. For sustainable tourism, we have to resolve tourism-related issues. Other countries have started boosting their tourism and tourists may go elsewhere. Govt is making 100% efforts and 50% issues have been resolved,” he said.
Sawant also said that in his personal opinion, major accidents took place in the state due to rent-a-car and rent-a-bike. “During my tenure, I have not given additional permissions for rent-a-car and rent-a-bike. I think easily accessible transport facilities should be made available in Goa,” he said.
