On June 17th 2024, the “1st Cambodia-India Tourism Year” was officially launched in New Delhi. The first-ever direct flight service between Phnom Penh and New Delhi by Cambodia Angkor Air, which began one day earlier, was also commemorated during the ceremony. Manisha Saxena, Director General (Tourism), Ministry of Tourism, India, and Long Phirum, Secretary of State, Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia, officiated the event.
Speaking to representatives of the government, travel agents, and businesses in both nations, Saxena and Phirum emphasised the significance of this initiative.
