The first Cambodia-India Tourism Year was launched in New Delhi, a move aimed at promoting tourism between both countries. The ceremony coincided with the launch of a direct flight service between Phnom Penh and New Delhi by Cambodia Angkor Air. The event was presided over by Manisha Saxena, the Indian Ministry of Tourism director general, and Long Phirum, Secretary of State for Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism. The officials underscored the significance of this initiative, calling it a ‘significant milestone.’ The 2024 year has been designated as ‘Cambodia-India Tourism Year.’ The audience included government officials, tour operators from both countries, and Indian businesspeople.
