The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning (MoHUP) in Oman has unveiled a visionary waterfront project named Al Khuwair Muscat Downtown and Waterfront Development, slated for the capital city with a substantial investment totaling USD 1.3 billion. Spanning an expansive 3.3 million square meters, the project is the brainchild of Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA), a prestigious British architecture and design firm headquartered in London. At its core, the design prioritizes sustainability, aiming to enhance the well-being of residents and visitors while reshaping urban living in Oman, especially as Muscat’s population is projected to nearly double to 2.7 million inhabitants by 2040.
