More than five thousand Paryatan Sakhi performed yoga at 50 tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh, including some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites such as Khajuraho, Bhimbetka, Sanchi Stupa, Pachmarhi, Mandu and Gwalior, to mark the International Yoga Day on Friday.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, sharing the message of ‘Yoga with Tourism’ across the state, and keeping in mind the theme, ‘Yoga for self and society’ of the day.
Facilitated by project partner organizations under the Safe Tourism Project for Women, and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board (MPTB), the grand yoga event also saw the participation of local women motivating other women towards tourism.
