Pakistan shares a close bond with its neighbouring country, Iran, which attracts thousands of Muslim visitors annually to pay homage to its sacred shrines.
To enter Iran, Pakistanis must acquire a Ziarat visa from the Iranian embassy. Alternatively, they can also obtain a tourism visa from the embassy.

Visa applicants have two options for applying for an Iranian visa:
- They can directly fill out the Visa Application Form on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s website and then appear in person at the Visa Section of the Consulate.
- Alternatively, they can utilize approved Drop Boxes (Travel Agencies) or Ziarat Caravans for visa application submission.
To obtain a Ziarat visa, applicants must present the following documents:
- Original passport with a minimum validity of six months before the expiry date.
- Original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) and a copy of it for applicants whose Residential Address differs from their Passport’s issuance place.
- Printed Visa Application Form issued for the applicant after completing the electronic Application Form and the specified Barcode.
