The AdAsia 2023 Seoul Organizing Committee has announced the Asia Young Creators’ Award (AYCA) as part of the AdAsia 2023 Seoul festival. This award is open to Asian university students and foreign students residing in Korea, allowing them to showcase their creativity. The theme of the contest is “Discover your Soul in Seoul”, based on the new slogan of Seoul, a global megacity. Participants are required to create and upload a video related to Seoul on their personal social media accounts and submit an application form via email.
There are three areas of focus for the contest. Firstly, participants are asked to explore and express what their soul is and how it can be fulfilled in Seoul. Secondly, they can choose one of three topics to express their soul: the history of Seoul, the space of Seoul, or a free topic related to the city. Finally, participants are encouraged to present their perspectives on the culture of Seoul as seen by foreigners.
A panel of professional judges will select 12 teams as finalists, who will be invited to give a presentation at the AdAsia 2023 Seoul event in October. The judging will take place on-site, and winners will be chosen for different categories, including the Grand Prize, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Finalists.
AYCA is organized by the Asia Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) and the AdAsia 2023 Seoul Organizing Committee, with support from the Korea Federation of Advertising Associations (KFAA) and the sponsorship of the Seoul Metropolitan Government. More information about the contest can be found on the AdAsia 2023 Seoul website or by contacting the Seoul Secretariat of AdAsia 2023.
In addition to the AYCA, the AdAsia 2023 Seoul festival is also organized by the AFAA and the AdAsia 2023 Seoul Organizing Committee, with support from various organizations including the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Seoul Metropolitan Government, Korea Tourism Organization, Seoul Tourism Organization, and Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp.
Overall, the AYCA provides an opportunity for Asian university students and foreign students in Korea to showcase their creativity and express their perspectives on Seoul. The contest aligns with the new slogan of Seoul, “Seoul, my Soul”, and encourages participants to explore the various aspects of the city’s history, space, and culture. The finalists will have the chance to present their work at the AdAsia 2023 Seoul event and compete for different awards.
