Around 50 people from Kazakhstan will be visiting Incheon, South Korea on a medical tourism package. This is the first time people from Kazakhstan are visiting the port city since the package trips were introduced in June. Two cancer patients arrived in July to receive treatments at a hospital, and the rest of the group will go to six other hospitals in Incheon for medical examinations and tests throughout August. After their treatments, the visitors will be taken to local tourist attractions. The package includes discounted lodging at a hotel and discounted airfares provided by Incheon Tourism Organization and Asiana Airlines. Incheon city government opened a medical tourism promotion center in Almaty, Kazakhstan on June 28 and several medical centers in Incheon and private medical tourism companies are involved in the program. The goal of the city government is to sustain networks between the government, medical centers, and medical tourism developers to attract more foreign patients to the city.
