In April, the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) launches a special space in the center of Myeongdong, Seoul’s main tourist spot, to showcase the charms of the country’s local places and create a personalized itinerary for visitors based on their personal preferences and schedules. Visitors can get tourist information on regions such as Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Chungcheongbuk-do, as well as purchase souvenirs and specialty products.
The city government announced that it will open ‘Tripzip’, a group of local tourism concept stores in Myeongdong (35-12, Myeongdong 10-gil, Jung-gu). These stores will offer visitors opportunities to experience local culture and travel content, and will begin operations on Mon, Apr. 1.
Tripzip, a collection of local travel, tour, and cultural content, was established to foster coexistence with regions outside Seoul by presenting tourist information about these areas. It will introduce major tour information of five local governments to domestic and foreign tourists, including Gangwon-do, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Chungcheongbuk-do, Jeollanam-do, and Andong-si. (Available in English, Chinese, and Japanese)
Each establishment will measure approximately 230 ㎡ and will be open year-round from 10 AM to 7 PM.
Meanwhile, the city will celebrate the launch of Tripzip by holding a ‘treasure hunt event’ and a hashtag (#) event using social media for those who visit TripZip from Mon, Apr. 1 to Mon, Apr. 8.
