According to Yonhap News Agency, group tour products to North Korea are now being sold in China in preparation for the resumption of tourism in the country. One travel agency, Young Pioneer Tours, has already listed six travel routes for July and seven tour products for August on their website. However, travelers are currently unable to book these tours as the border between China and North Korea remains closed. Reports of North Korea reopening to tourist groups have been circulating this year, but it is unlikely that tourism will resume in the near future. Experts believe that the resumption of international trade and the entry of business personnel will take priority over tourism. Trans-border freight train services between China and North Korea were initially suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic in August 2020 but have since resumed intermittently.
