The ceremony of introducing and clarifying the strategic plans that Myanmar Airways International (MAI) will carry out in 2024 and changing the name of its partner airline, AIR KBZ, to Mingala Airlines was held at Lotte Hotel in Yangon on March 8.
The purpose of the event is to unveil MAI’s ambitious network expansion plan for 2024, and to present better services and cooperation aimed at strengthening Myanmar’s tourism industry.
A host of guests including MAI’s partners, media representatives, travel agents and members of MAI and Mingalar management teams were said to be in attendance.
“Although there are many challenges at present, MAI will further expand our travel network. The number of foreign flights MAI is flying will increase to 21. The new flights will soon be reached to Chiang Mai, Vientiane, Dhaka and Doha. I believe that the new flights that will be run again will benefit passengers and colleagues a lot,” said Mr. Tanes Kumar, MAI’s Acting Chief Executive Officer and Chief Commercial Officer.
After that, MAI Airlines simultaneously revealed that its subsidiary, Air KBZ, has now changed its name to Mingalar Aviation Services (Mingalar). At the event, MAI Airlines announced a co-branding agreement with ATOM and launched a co-branded Tourism SIM during the event. The proposed operation aims to provide passengers with reasonable prices and high-quality phone calls in Myanmar, and the unlimited system and data have been integrated, and the SIM card can be easily purchased on MAI flights and can also be purchased from MAI’s passenger sales agents.
