The National Management Degree College Students’ Union held a panel discussion on the modern survival of Myanmar tourism and the actions to overcome post-Covid challenges. The panelists included U Phyo Wai Yar Zar, who discussed the need for marketing through digital platforms and the importance of domestic tourism. Daw Khin Than Win, the Director of Myanmar Tourism Marketing, emphasized the need for sustainable tourism and promotion of lesser-known destinations. Dr. Tin Maung Than, the Chairman of Myanmar Tourism Federation, spoke on the need for government support, including fiscal policies and infrastructure development, to boost tourism. The discussion also covered the shift towards more immersive and experiential tourism, as well as the challenges posed by the pandemic and how to navigate them. Overall, the panelists agreed on the importance of cooperation and innovation to revive and strengthen Myanmar’s tourism industry.
