The Pakistan Cricket Board has accused England of making “excuses” after their decision to withdraw from planned men’s and women’s tours next month.
The teams were due to play two T20s in Rawalpindi on October 13 and 14, with the women’s team staying on for a three-match one-day international series. But after New Zealand pulled out of their tour hours before the first game was due to start on Friday, citing a “real and credible” security threat, the ECB announced today that it had “reluctantly decided to withdraw both teams from the October trip”.
Ramiz Raja, the new chairman of the PCB, issued an angry post on social media in response to the cancellation, accusing England of “failing” Pakistan.
“Disappointed with England pulling out of
