Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar on Wednesday said tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan can be further promoted by developing communication system and necessary infrastructure in the area. This was stated by him while talking to a 17-member delegation of Royal Foundation of Gilgit Baltistan led by its Chairman Raja Nazim-ul-Ameen which called on him in Islamabad.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said developing tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan will also help create opportunities for economic development in the region. He said a positive trend in tourism was witnessed after upgradation of the Skardu Airport to international level. He said Gilgit-Baltistan was rich with natural resources and its people were very hospitable.
