Dr. Shireen Mazari, the Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) political party, has stated that issuing passports for visits to Jerusalem during PTI’s tenure should not be seen as the beginning of trade with Israel. She clarified that visas were issued to Pakistani nationals to visit religious sites in Israel based on their religion. However, starting trade between the two countries without diplomatic relations is different. Dr. Mazari stated that it was impossible for any citizen to do trade with Israel without involving the government. Furthermore, she believes that there is a political agenda behind recent efforts to build relations with Israel, and that the PTI government’s stance on Israel was correct, which led to a regime change conspiracy against them.
