Pakistan is making every effort to facilitate the movement of around 385,000 Afghan people every month through the Pak-Afghan border crossings, which include the introduction of the Integrated Border Management System, exclusive counters, and other measures. Currently, Pakistan has five operational crossing points with Afghanistan, and around 13,000 people travel to and from Afghanistan daily via these points. Pakistan is manning over 100 counters at the crossing points to ensure smooth processing of cross-border movement, including women and patients who are given special attention. Pakistan’s border crossing for Afghan people, even those without passports, to earn a livelihood or visit a relative, address a medical emergency or get an education is an exclusive offer extended by Pakistan, which no other neighbouring country offers. However, around five to six thousand Afghan nationals are refused entry every month because of insufficient or no documents.
