ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has introduced a new visa regime under which a three months visa exemption period will be applicable on short term/official business visits while visa for the entire period of assignment will be granted to members of diplomatic/consular missions and their families.
At present, Pakistan has visa abolition/exemption agreements with 48 countries. It has visa abolition agreements for diplomatic passport holders of 12 countries, for diplomatic and official passport holders of 34 countries and for ordinary passport holders (all nationals) of 2 countries. This exemption of visa is for three months, however, Azerbaijan, China (Hong Kong), Egypt, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, Malaysia, Malta, Romania, Serbia, Sri Lanka, and Turkmenistan have one month duration exemption. All nationals of Nepal and Maldives have one month and three months visa exemption respectively, according to the documents exclusively available with The Nation.
